Upon GITIS’s invitation, Professor Chikele Ofuebe, a Doctor of Philosophy and the Director of the International Cooperation Department, Professor Charles A. Igwe, the Vice-Rector, and Patrick U. Okoko, the Deputy Vice-Rector, arrived in Moscow.
During their stay in the Russian capital, the delegation visited the main GITIS campus, learned about the history of our institute, explored the GITIS Scientific Library and the Theater Arts Building (TIR), where fencing classes were held. Furthermore, the Nigerian guests visited the Educational Theater of GITIS and the Educational and Theatre Complex of GITIS in Novye Cheryomushki, where they observed classes of students from the Musical Theater Department in Lika Rulla’s Studio.
At the request of the guests, GITIS organized a meeting between the delegation and representatives of the Pushkin State Russian Language Institute. The parties discussed future cooperation and new projects, including the establishment of a center for the study of the Russian language, “Institute Pushkin,” at the Nigerian University. Additionally, the possibility of implementing the “Russian Language Ambassadors” program in Nigeria was discussed.
The visit of the representatives from the Nigerian University to Moscow, organized by GITIS, strengthened the bond between the universities and serves as a guarantee for future fruitful collaboration.
