On November 19th the staging of Shakespear’s “King Lear” directed by dean of Directing department in GITIS Vladimir Baicher premiered in Theatrum theater (Tallinn, Estonia). King Lear was performed by Theatrum’s director Lembit Peterson.
“This show has been made because of him. If a director doesn’t have an actor to play Lear, then don’t work on this play. Lembit and I were talking once and we found out that he had a dream to play Lear and I was dreaming of staging ‘King Lear’. From that moment on everything began to move around. And our friend theatre designer Vladimir Anshon came up with phantastic set design”, Baicher said in an interview to Stolitsa.ee before the premiere.
