Russian creative universities had a lot of foreign applicants during summer 2022 admission process. This year GITIS accepted students from more than 10 countries including Greece, Germany, Zambia, Estonia, Latvia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Abkhazia, Belarus, and the LNR.
This fact was highlighted at the conference by GITIS rector Grigory Zaslavsky:
“We had applicants from Finland and also a Japanese girl dreaming of studying at GITIS. In the last couple of years one of the most interesting directions for us is Mongolia; we noticed that very talented students are joining our directing department. There were 25 foreigners in total. This year we had 195 students admitted on budget places — with more than 10% of admitted students being foreigners. Overall, we didn’t notice that there were fewer interest or applicants this year.”
