On October 3-12th at the Kazakh National Academy of Arts named after T.K. Zhurgenov (Almaty) GITIS School on methods of theater education will take place. Kazakh professors will participate in this school.
During the GITIS school, there will be organized classes and workshops on acting, theater directing, and stage movement. Moreover, the GITIS school in Almaty will include round tables and discussions on theater education.
GITIS is represented in this School by Anna Trifonova (senior lecturer in the Musical Theater department), and Aidar Zakirov (Head of the Stage Movement department). Together with the students of Alexander Titel and Igor Yasulovich Studio, they will present the methodology of teaching the Russian school of theater. School participants will also meet GITIS rector Grigory Zaslavsky, who will lead a discussion panel on “The Current State of the National School.”
The school was organized thanks to the support of the Presidential Grants Fund and the Theatre Education Support and Development Fund. Ambassador of GITIS in Kazakhstan and senior lecturer at the Kazakh National University of Arts Yerzhan Kulumbetov served as project coordinator for this school.
