GITIS graduates presented two premieres in Kazakhstan - "Kin IV" by Gorin play at the Gorky Drama Theater in Nursultan and "Jokers " by Ostrovsky at the Zhambyl Regional Russian Drama Theater in Taraz. Both performances gathered full halls and were very warmly received by the audience. GITIS laid bridge of friendship between Russia and Kazakhstan.
"This form of creative cooperation gave an unprecedented impetus to our Kazakh theatrical life. It is no secret that in Kazakhstan the profession of a theater actor is not considered prestigious. We all hope that the continuation of this project will serve to popularize the theater art in the republic, and young specialists from GITIS, brought up on the best traditions of the Russian theater school, will become an example for us," said Aibolat Zhaudyr, director of the Gorky Drama Theater.
The project "Performances of GITIS students and graduates in Russian Theaters Abroad" is being implemented with the participation of the GITIS Foundation for the Support and Development of Theater Education, with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and the "Federal directorate of performing arts ROSCONCERT". The project plans to release performances in Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan in 2021.
