GITIS auditions in Kazakhstan

GITIS launches auditions in the Republic of Kazakhstan the upcoming spring as our school deepens ties with the country.

14 performances will be shown at the III International Student Festival of graduation performances “GITIS fest”

The festival will showcase 14 performances from various theater schools and theaters in cities such as Belgorod, Belgrade (Serbia), Vladivostok, Zarechny, Kazan, Moscow, New Delhi (India), St. Petersburg, Shanghai (China), and Yaroslavl. The festival aims to serve as a platform for dialogue and collaboration between major Russian and international theater schools.

GITIS Winter School on Theater Education will be held in Kazakhstan

On February 3-13th GITIS Winter school will be organized at the “Baldauren” center. This winter school will welcome students, actors, and professors.

For 10 days GITIS professors will run workshops and discussions on theater education. GITIS will be represented by professors Taras Belousov, Ekaterina Granitova-Lavrovskaya, Ruslan Nasibulin, and Lyudmila Garnitsa. Together with the students of the Acting Department, they will demonstrate the methodology of Russian theater education.

Students and professors from the Kazakh National University of Arts, Kazakh State Puppet Theater, Turkestan Musical and Drama Theater, Atyrau Regional Kazakh Academic Drama Theater, and the Higher College of Culture will participate in this GITIS Winter School.

This Winter School will also include trips to Lake Borovoe and Abylai Khan Glade, Kenesary Cave, rocks Okzhetpes and Zhumbataks, lakes Shchuchye and Tekekol, and the city of Astana.

“This Winter School is not about endless bragging about our achievements. We focus here on creating strong partnerships with our partners — the Kazakh National University of Arts and the Kazakh National Academy of Arts. The goal of this School is not only to share valuable knowledge on theater education but also to establish strong connections with other students and professors. Some of the theater schools and theaters in Kazakhstan were built in Soviet times. GITIS professors have directly participated in this process, and we are proud of that. Today some theaters and universities are still led by GITIS graduates”, -commented GITIS Rector Grigory Zaslavsky.

The GITIS Winter School in Kazakhstan will be held within the framework of the Priority 2030 Strategic Academic Leadership Program and with the support of the “Russian World” Foundation. The media partner of the event is TV BRICS.
