GITIS and National School of Drama (New Delhi, India) reestablished educational cooperation after a long break.
GITIS rector Grigory Zaslavsky, students of the Acting art Department (the class of professor Vladimir Andreev) and teachers of stage movement and acting art have all come to New Delhi this week. On November 5th GITIS students performed a show “The Duel” after Alexander Kuprin’s novel. There are two other performances scheduled — concerts at Drama Schools and at the Russian Culture Centre in New Delhi. During a week-long visit GITIS teachers are working with National School of Drama young artists and the student of the Directing Department Roman Lykov (the class of Dmitry Krymov and Evgeny Kamenkovich) is rehearsing a dramatic sketch with students of both theatre schools.
“We had been partners with India more than 10 years ago and we kept good memories of the cooperation. And as I see our Indian partners also welcome the renewal of the contacts. We met with School’s leaders and agreed to host a delegation from New Delhi at GITIS in Moscow next spring. After that, exchanges with such renowned New Delhi’s school will be held on a regular basis”, — GITIS rector Grigory Zaslavsky told TASS news agency.
