GITIS creates a cultural bridge between Russia and Georgia.
Delegation from Tbilisi Shota Rustaveli University of Theatre and Cinema came to Moscow after a 26-year break. A delegation of students from Georgia, headed by the Pro-Rector George Margvelashvili, visited Moscow for a week at the invitation of GITIS. They attended classes and workshops from the classes of famous Evgeny Kamenkovich and Dmitry Krymov, as well as visited best museums and theatres in Moscow.
"We had a big culture shock in Russia and were deeply impressed by GITIS’ hospitality. We are absolutely happy that we came to Moscow”- commented young theater students. Georgian students had a unique experience of studying with GITIS students and meeting the most prominent figures of Russian theatre including: Rimas Tuminas, Mikhail Shvydky, Evgeny Kamenkovich, Natalia Nazarova, Oleg Volyntsev, Irina Avtushenko, Ramune Khodorkaite.
