GITIS auditions in Kazakhstan

Call for Applications: InteRussia Theatre Arts Fellowship at GITIS-2026

The InteRussia team announces a call for applications to join the InteRussia Theatre Arts Fellowship for actors from BRICS+ countries, which will be hosted by the Russian Institute of Theatre Arts (GITIS).

The InteRussia programme offers international actors an opportunity to explore Russian theatre practices, take part in tutorials and workshops on stage speech and acting, meet renowned cultural figures, attend performances at leading Moscow theatres, and exchange professional experience with colleagues from different countries.

Upon completion of the programme, participants will prepare stage movement etudes and excerpts from plays, which will be presented at the final session of the fellowship.

Fellowship will take place from August 24 to October 3, 2026.

Location: Moscow, Russia

Working language: English

Who can apply?

The fellowship is open to senior students of theatre schools, film schools, and educational institutions offering acting programmes, as well as young professional actors from BRICS+ countries who meet the following requirements:

● non-Russian citizenship;

● residence outside of the Russian Federation;

● no academic or employment affiliation with Russian educational institutions or organisations at the time of application (candidates must not be enrolled in Russian educational institutions or employed by Russian organizations);

● age between 21 and 35;

● proficiency in English (minimum level B2).

How to Apply?

To participate in the competitive selection process, applicants must:

1. Register on the English-language version of the Gorchakov Fund website. If you did not receive a confirmation email, please check your spam folder.

2. Go to the “My Projects” section, click “Create Application,” select the competition “InteRussia Theatre 2026,” and confirm your choice.

3. Complete all required sections of the application form.

4. Attach a link to your portfolio and creative works.

5. Submit the application by clicking the “Submit” button in the “Apply” section and wait until the status changes from “Draft” to “Submitted.”

Fellowship Terms

The organizers provide:

  • travel from the participant’s place of residence to Moscow and back;
  • accommodation in double rooms at a hotel;
  • a scholarship of 45,000 rubles for the duration of the programme.


Participants cover the following expenses:

  • medical insurance;
  • visa application fee;
  • meals during the fellowship period.


The deadline for submitting applications is May 31, 23:59. (Moscow time).

The InteRussia Theatre Arts Fellowship for international specialists is organized by GITIS in cooperation with the Gorchakov Fund, TV BRICS International Media Network, and Mezhdunarodniki Autonomous Non-Profit Organisation. The programme is implemented as part of Rossotrudnichestvo’s flagship New Generation initiative with grant support of the Presidential Grants Foundation.
