The VIII Theatre Festival of CIS countries “GITIS — Master Class” has officially opened at the GITIS theatre. The upcoming week will be dedicated to student performances, creative exchange, and professional development.
This year’s program includes showcases of student productions, as well as master classes in acting, stage speech, and movement led by GITIS faculty.
In his opening remarks, GITIS Rector Grigory Zaslavsky welcomed the participants:
“We thank all the students, many of whom may be seeing Moscow for the first time. It is a great honor for us to host our friends from the Commonwealth countries. Welcome!”
Following the official ceremony, students of the faculty of Novel stage art forms, class of Anna Ardova, presented their production of “The Noblewoman-Peasant” based on the story by Alexander Pushkin.
The festival is held with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, the Presidential Grants Foundation, the Interstate Fund for Humanitarian Cooperation of the CIS Member States, and with informational support from TV BRICS.
