GITIS has officially opened its annual Summer School on the picturesque shores of Lake Issyk-Kul in Kyrgyzstan. This year’s program brings together students and faculty members from four leading art universities across Central Asia and Russia: the B. Beishenalieva Kyrgyz State University of Culture and Arts, the M. Tursunzade Tajik State Institute of Culture and Arts, the T. Zhurgenov Kazakh National Academy of Arts, and GITIS.
Over ten days, GITIS teachers are leading intensive training course. Ivan Derendyaev, teacher with Department of sound drama, is working on acting techniques. Tatiana Vasilieva, senior teacher in stage speech is holding sessions in stage speech. Aidar Zakirov, head of the Department of stage movement is offering a workshop on stage movement and physical theatre.
A special highlight of the program will be a talk by GITIS Rector Grigory Zaslavsky, who will lead an open discussion on contemporary Russian theatre.
The project is supported by the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, and is held in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture, Information, Sports and Youth Policy of the Kyrgyz Republic.
