The 7th “Theatre Festival of the CIS Countries “GITIS — Master Class” inaugurates in Moscow. GITIS Theatre hosted the opening of the 7th “Theatre Festival of the CIS Countries “GITIS — Master Class”. The festival became a showcase for final-year performances by students from theatre schools across CIS countries. This year’s program is dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the director Vsevolod Meyerhold.
“We hope that not only will you be interested in our master classes, but that your experience will also become a valuable source of knowledge for us,” said GITIS rector Grigory Zaslavsky addressing the participants and guests.
“The project of the Kyrgyz-Russian studio, launched last year at our faculty of the novel stage art forms, showed how fruitful the mutual enrichment of two cultures can be,” he emphasized greeting the audience.
After the official opening of the festival, students of Dmitry Bertman’s class offered “Help Two Lovers” performance.
This year participants are: Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Arts, T. Zhurgenov Kazakh National Academy of Arts, B. Beishenalieva Kyrgyz State University of Culture and Arts, Kazakh National University of Arts, Tajik State Institute of Culture and Arts, Yerevan State Institute of Theatre and Cinema, and State Institute of Arts and Culture of Uzbekistan.
The festival is held with the support of the Interstate Fund for Humanitarian Cooperation of the CIS Member States, and the “Russkiy Mir” Foundation, with the information support of TV BRICS and the Eurasia Today outlet.
