GITIS is ready to play its part in international cultural diplomacy
This initiative was brought by the chair of the GITIS Board of Trustees, the head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) Kirill Dmitriev. Mr. Dmitriev held a meeting with GITIS rector Grigory Zaslavsky.
They discussed the institute’s artistic and educational projects, the possibility of a new cooperation with Saudi Arabia who are interested in methodological assistance in training actors that GITIS offers.
Partnerships with China, Brazil and India were also discussed. Mr. Zaslavsky shared GITIS plans for the new academic year. The first GITIS school on theatre education methodology will take place in Brazil this autumn. Our teachers will then head to China to direct a show for Beijing’s Central Academy of Drama. The GITIS academic team is also expected in the Indian National School of Drama for a long-term training program on acting.
Mr.Dmitriev emphasized that in the new academic year, the GITIS Board of Trustees will continue to support the best students with personal scholarships for academic success.
