GITIS hosted opera and drama laboratories during the International Arts Festival “Slavic Bazaar in Vitebsk” in Belarus.
Opera laboratory for students of music colleges and universities of Belarus was lead by the head of GITIS department of vocal, People’s Artist of the USSR Tamara Sinyavskaya and the deputy head of the department, Honoured Artist of Russia Nikolay Vasiliev. At the end of the training they presented a concert program at the Regional Philharmonic of Vitebsk.
At the same time the Yakub Kolas National Academic Drama Theater was hosting GITIS drama lab lead by professor, Honored Artist of Russia Alexander Barmak. Professor took Maxim Gorky’s famous play “Summerfolk” (Dachniki) to focus on the method of Active Analysis. Drama lab also offered training on stage speech and stage movement from our senior teachers Tatyana Vasilyeva and Robert Elkibaev, respectively. The laboratory participants held an open class to show the results of the work.
